On May 31, Real Estate Partner David Martin spoke with Bisnow about the Madison Marquette-PMRG merger that is expected to close in the next three weeks. The merger between DC-based Madison Marquette and Houston-based PMRG began a year ago after Madison Marquette added John Fleury as president to "chart a rapid expansion."

Bisnow asked David what the keys to success are in a merger of this size. David explained that the executives on both sides must be mindful of what they hope to achieve and strategically plan the integration of the companies. He added, "I can think of plenty of mergers that fall apart because they thought it was going to be a good idea and didn’t put much thought into it, nothing happened, they never integrated and started falling apart later on. If they continue to act like separate companies, they haven't really merged and become one."
