Health Care Associate M. Ramana Rameswaran Appointed to ABA’s Young Lawyer Division for Second Term
As the YLD Representative, Mr. Rameswaran will participate on the governing body and will be responsible for the operations, growth, and development of the Section. Mr. Rameswaran has served in this role since February 2016, and will continue as the YLD Representative until August of 2020. At the end of his next term, he will be the first to serve in this role for four years.
The Health Law Section of the ABA has more than 11,000 members who represent clients in all segments of the health care industry. In addition, the Section works with governmental health care programs, federal and state regulatory bodies, and the academic community.
With a background and practical work experience in the health care field, Mr. Rameswaran represents clients in a wide variety of health law and corporate-related matters, including health information technology and software licensing, complex consulting and other service arrangements to health care entities, arrangements related to the 340B drug discount program, graduate medical education, group purchasing organization and other supply chain arrangements, compliance with HIPAA, Stark Law, and Anti-Kickback Statute.
In addition to being the YLD Representative, Mr. Rameswaran is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, South Asian Bar Association, and is an active EMT and Emergency Medical Services Instructor at the Uwchlan Ambulance Corps, a nonprofit volunteer ambulance service outside of Philadelphia.
Mr. Rameswaran earned his JD from the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law and his BS from Widener University.
